TRAILPLUS COMPUTES RIGHT ANSWER FOR TEAM BUILD AND COMPANY ACTIVITY DAY

TrailPlus has helped to usher in another successful financial year for a computer systems company.

The outdoor event specialists worked closely with Prestige Systems to create an event that combined a company-wide briefing to explain Prestige's business strategy for the forthcoming financial year, a team building exercise designed to bridge the perceptual gaps between the technical and sales staff and a fun day out for all employees.

Prestige Systems is a technology solutions provider offering its blue chip business clients and government organisation customers with expert assistance on developing, managing and getting the most benefit out of IT infrastructures.

The Midlands-based company holds an annual employee event to mark the beginning of every financial year - the day is designed to give every employee a full insight into the strategy that will be moving the company forward and to reward their hard work in making the previous year a success.

"As we have had a few of these events now, we were looking for something just that bit different to rekindle the enthusiasm and interest of our staff," said the Marketing Director of Prestige Systems Elaine Dawson.

"When we found TrailPlus we discovered a company that could offer us an innovative, fun and exciting day of mental and physical challenges. They had a difficult brief in which they had to engage staff of all shapes and sizes.

"The way they appointed the teams - and devised the challenges - meant that every member of the team had a vital role to play, whether physical, mental or organisational depending on their own strengths."

The difference TrailPlus brought to Prestige was their ability to provide activities such as abseiling, mountain biking and kayak canoeing as well as more cerebral challenges designed to get the team thinking laterally and as a unit.

"Some people came to the day with certain phobias - afraid of heights chief among them. However, the team spirit TrailPlus was able to develop among everybody really helped our staff face up to and overcome their fears.

"This same sense of team support has found its way into the daily routine at Prestige Systems, spurring us on to even greater things," Mrs Dawson said.

The event, which TrailPlus will now design and develop for another year, has significantly increased Prestige's bottom line.

The strengthened bonds between the sales team has seen a sharp increase in co-operation over internal and external sales leads, and has contributed to an overall boost to sales conversions.

The work TrailPlus carried out for Prestige has also fostered greater links between the sales staff and the implementation teams, providing a faster and more efficient delivery of solutions to clients.
