Brief

Take a bit of inspiration from the world of triathlon, add in a hefty dose of stunning off-road adventure playgrounds and invest in a huge fleet of inflatable kayaks and… hey presto!

The TrailPlus Adventure Challenge Series was created as a team adventure like no other. Teams of three were tasked with completing 10km of trail running- but not all in one go- up to 25km of mountain biking and a wee splash of kayaking. Of course we threw in a few other challenges for good measure before our signature, and challenge-finishing, ‘slippery wall’ obstacle. Now that’s what we call an adventure.

Outcome

Our very first challenge took place at the Royal Military Academy’s Sandhurst in 2004 and witnessed just 19 teams taking part. Within 5 years it was the UK’s biggest multi-activity, team-adventure Series with some events attracting over 300 teams. It also attracted the attention and valued support of leading outdoor brand Helly Hansen who discovered the perfect event platform to promote their extensive outdoor apparel offering.
